TLD What does that Mean?
TLD is an acronym that stands for "Top Level Domain". A Top Level Domain has an extension of .org, .edu,.info or .com. More recently the top level domain .co has been added. These categories allow users to identify the type of site you are visiting intuitively. For example, your making a website for a school, you would typically use the ".edu" extension to name your website.
So let's say you are the webmaster for RogueMaverick University. You would want to register your domain name as follows:
RogueMaverickUniversity.edu
Now everyone will know that they are visiting an education related sitebased on the TLD extension, .edu.
